About Eira

Eira Hammond

All of my life I have had a keen interest in music, playing the cornet, oboe and singing.  I was brought up in the Salvation Army (as an ‘Officers Kid’), and studied music at school; but its over the past few years (since 2014) I have developed an avid interest in wider aspects of performance, including amateur theatre.

I was fortunate to take part in Lincoln Cathedrals performance of the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar during 2015 and 2016, and from there, got to know many local people, including many diva’s, who are involved in theatre both locally, nationally and internationally!  I never expected to meet so many talented individuals that have really shown me what a fabulous experience community theatre really is.

In this blog I’m very keen to not only review shows that I go to watch, but wherever possible, get involved in the pre-production of shows by attending rehearsals from time to time.  I’d like to give the local shows, that often struggle to get sell out audiences, the opportunity to publicise their shows even further, in time for them to boost the ticket sales.
